1. The anagen phase is when your hair is in its active growth stage. It's during this phase that your hair follicles are hard at work, producing new cells and causing your hair to rapidly lengthen. How long your hair stays in the anagen phase can vary from 2 to 7 years, depending on factors like genetics, age, and overall health. The longer this phase lasts, the more your hair can grow, so it's an important phase for achieving long and healthy locks.
2. After the anagen phase comes the catagen phase, which is a transitional stage. This phase is relatively short, lasting only a few weeks. During catagen, hair growth slows down and the hair follicle disconnects from the blood supply. This leads to the formation of a club hair, which serves as the root for new hair growth. Even though the hair is no longer actively growing during catagen, it remains firmly anchored in the hair follicle.
3. The telogen phase is the final phase of the hair growth cycle, also known as the resting phase. During this stage, the old hair is shed to make way for new hair growth. On the scalp, about 10-15% of hair is in the telogen phase at any given time. This phase allows for renewal and regeneration, preparing the follicles for the next anagen phase and the growth of new hair.

A:Laser hair removal permanently reduces hair growth by targeting pigmented hair follicles with pulses of intense light. During treatment, the laser's light is absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair shaft and bulb. This converts the light energy into heat, which damages the hair follicle stem cells responsible for regeneration. Permanent hair reduction requires destroying these stem cells when the hair follicle is in its active growth phase.
Q. When can I expect to see results?
A. Results will start to show two weeks after the initial treatment, with significantly less hair regrowth. Furthermore, with each subsequent treatment, the amount of hair regrowth will diminish.
Q. How long does each treatment session last?
A. The usual course consists of 6-10 treatment sessions, spaced 4-12 weeks apart. The duration of each treatment session varies depending on the area being treated, with an average of approximately 30 minutes per session.
A. Sharp Light’s DPC treatments are safe and non-invasive. During the procedure, you may experience a brief 1-2 second tingling sensation, but no pain. There is zero downtime, allowing you to easily fit treatments into your schedule and quickly resume your daily activities.
A. Only about 20-25% of human hair follicles are in the active growth phase at any given time. This is the percentage of hair follicles that can be eliminated in a single treatment session. To eliminate up to 90% of the hair, multiple treatments are necessary until the desired outcome is achieved.
